Good vision in a downpour... Dec 14, 2011
This piece of advise was passed along to me by my good friend Kathy this morning. I was able to put this advise to the test this morning while driving on Chicago's Kennedy Expressway during a heavy downpour, and in the dark. I can confirn that it works as well as being "common knowledge" to a couple of police friends of mine.
Most of the motorists would turn on HIGH or FASTEST SPEED of the wipers during heavy downpour, yet the visibility in front of the windshield is still bad . In the event that you face such a situation, just try your SUN GLASSES, any model will do. All of a sudden, your visibility in front of your windshield is perfectly clear, as if there is no rain at all. Amazingly you still see the drops on your windshield, but not the sheets of falling rain. You can actually see the rain drops as they bounce off the road. It also works to eliminate the "blindness" from passing trucks, as well as the "kickup" caused by following any vehicle in traffic. They ought to teach this little tip in driver's training. I'm going to mention it to my kids tonight.
So, my friends always have a pair of sun glasses in your car, as you are not only helping yourself to drive safely and with good vision, but you might also save the life of a friend by giving him or her this idea.
I love you all and I hope to see you back here again real soon. Please don't forget to pass along a good word regarding my insurance agency and the fine work we do here for you. Simply tell a friend to call us for a quote. If they do and they drop your name, I'll send you a $50 Restaurant.com gift card. That's right, dinner on me for sending a friend for a quote on any type of insurance coverage.
Happy Holidays from your friends at Kane Insurance Group, Inc.
Your Insurance Wingman says "Hello world!" Sep 15, 2009
This is the first of what I hope to be many blog entries regarding the insurance world and particularly the world of insurance as seen through the eyes and experience of an Independent Insurance Agent. It’s my opinion that an Independent Agent is much more useful to the public in that we represent many insurance carriers and we will search all of them to find the best deal for our customers. Please know that the “best deal” is not always about saving money or being a lower premium. People, you need to know that the lowest priced insurance will often leave your butt hanging out in the wind. At Kane Insurance Group, Inc. I WORK FOR YOU!!! I’ll explain what you need, and why you need it. I’ll also explain what you don’t need and why you don’t. I’ve been at this a long time and I have seen some of the direct writer companies (State Farm, Allstate, Country Companies, and Farmer’s of the world), morph most of their policies into what I like to call “McDonald’s Happy Meals policies”; leaving you full for a moment, then lacking nutrition later. Questions and comments are always welcome. More Later…Thanks World!!!
